We Made It to New York Fashion Week!

Karl Kani's team called with a request: custom sports ball purses, fur covered, made just for his fall runway show. Nobody had asked me for anything like this before.

I said yes on the spot. Fur trim was new territory for me, but the challenge was exactly the kind I love chasing down. Each purse still had to start the same way every AGB bag does, as an actual game ball, taken apart piece by piece and rebuilt by hand into something you can carry and wear with pride. That part never changes, no matter who's asking or what the brief calls for.

A week of work went into getting the fit, the fur, and the finish just right before a single piece ever left the workshop.

Then on September 10, it happened. Our sports ball purses walked a New York Fashion Week runway as part of Karl Kani's fall collection, in front of an audience I could only have dreamed of a few years back.

Baltimore made. New York seen. Still can't quite believe it.
